MORE THAN A CHANGE OF COLOR

Love the way it looks.
Understand what went into it.

A fresh exterior can change how you feel about your home. The color, the trim and the care in the finish all contribute to that first impression when you pull into the driveway.

What supports that finish starts earlier: sound siding, a clean and dry surface, proper preparation and a coating system suited to the material beneath it.

We bring the same operational discipline to painting that guides our roofing work. Assess the conditions. Define the scope. Coordinate the materials and crew. Keep you informed.

BENJAMIN MOORE / SOURCED LOCALLY

Considered colors.
A specified coating system.

We use Benjamin Moore paints from our local paint store, Painter’s Alley. Product selection is part of planning your exterior—not a decision left until the crew arrives.

We specify the primer and finish for the substrate, existing coating and exposure. The proposal identifies the selected products and application scope.

See the color on your home.

We discuss body, trim, fascia, soffits and accent areas together. Review physical samples in your home’s light before finalizing the colors and sheen.

Sun, shade and neighboring materials can change how a color appears. Making those choices ahead helps keep the work organized once preparation begins.

OUR PROCESS / PLANNED BEFORE APPLICATION

The finish starts
with the preparation.

01

Assess & define.

Review siding and trim condition, existing paint adhesion, exposed wood, failed joints and signs of moisture. Define the surfaces, repairs, preparation, products and exclusions in the written scope.

02

Repair the surface.

Address agreed siding and trim repairs before painting. Deteriorated material needs a repair decision; a fresh coating does not restore unsound wood or resolve a water-entry problem.

03

Clean & let it dry.

Clean the surfaces using methods appropriate to the material and condition. Allow drying and assess readiness before coating. A calendar date alone does not make a surface ready for paint.

04

Prepare & prime.

Remove loose coating, sand and feather rough edges where appropriate, and select primer for the surface and adhesion needs. Caulk suitable joints while keeping required drainage and ventilation openings clear.

05

Protect & apply.

Plan masking and protection for windows, hardware, plants and surrounding surfaces. Select spray, brush or roller methods to suit the work, including back-brushing or back-rolling where appropriate to the coating and substrate.

06

Inspect & complete.

Review coverage and finish, address agreed touch-ups, remove masking and clean the work area. Walk through the completed scope with you and record the products and colors for future reference.

SIDING & TRIM REPAIRS

Resolve the condition
beneath the paint.

Our exterior work includes evaluating and scoping siding and trim repairs alongside painting. We look at damaged boards, deteriorated trim, vulnerable edges and the connections around windows, doors and rooflines.

Repair materials, fastening and flashing need to suit the existing assembly. Where the extent of damage is concealed, we explain what needs further investigation and how additional work will be approved.

Your proposal distinguishes repairs from preparation and painting. You can see what is being addressed and what is included in the investment.

COMMUNICATION IS THE HEARTBEAT

An organized project.
A homeowner kept in the loop.

Before we start

Confirm the scope, repairs, colors, access, material needs and property-protection plan. Discuss the expected sequence and what you need to prepare.

During the work

Coordinate supplies and crew tasks. Explain weather-related schedule changes and any newly exposed conditions before additional work proceeds.

At completion

Review the agreed scope, finish and cleanup together. You should understand the work completed and the care recommended for the selected coating.

BEFORE YOU PLAN

Exterior painting, clearly explained.

When should I schedule my exterior painting project?

Contact us ahead of your desired May–October season. Early planning allows time for the assessment, siding repairs, color selection and scheduling. Application still depends on suitable weather, surface moisture and the selected product’s requirements.

Can you repair siding before painting?

Yes. We assess the condition and include agreed siding or trim repairs in the scope. Concealed deterioration may require further investigation and a separately approved change.

Which paints do you use?

We use Benjamin Moore paints sourced through Painter’s Alley. We select the primer and finish for your surfaces and specify the products in the proposal.

Do you paint over peeling paint or damaged wood?

Loose coatings require preparation, and unsound material needs an appropriate repair. We assess the cause and condition before determining the preparation and coating approach.

What happens if the weather changes?

We adjust the sequence or application dates when conditions do not meet the selected product’s requirements. Temperature, surface moisture, rain and drying time affect the work. We explain schedule changes rather than applying paint simply to keep a date.
