Heard.
We start with your concerns and what matters to you. There is room for questions, priorities and a conversation about the home you want to protect.
You should feel heard, understand your choices and be proud of the home you return to. That is the experience we want the Wind Proof name to carry.
Founded in 2019 · Roofing since 2007 · Whidbey Island & AnacortesWind Proof began with a roofer’s perspective on a problem that reaches far beyond the roof.
I started working in roofing in 2007. Over the years, I worked with large, established companies around Seattle and Bellevue. Working on those crews taught me the craft. It also gave me a close view of what happens when the operation behind the work loses its connection to the people carrying it out.
I saw crews left to resolve issues with limited response from the office. When something unexpected happened, decisions fell to the people on the roof—even when the information, coordination or support they needed had not reached them.
The effort was there. What was missing was often a clear plan and a connected team. Those gaps could become delays, hurried decisions and uncertainty for the homeowner.
I wanted to address the problems that were easy to overlook or leave unspoken. That meant looking beyond the installation itself: how the roof was assessed, how the scope was prepared, how materials were ordered and how information moved between everyone involved.
In 2019, I founded Wind Proof Roofing around that responsibility. My philosophy is to approach a roof with the discipline a team of engineers would bring to a skyscraper: understand how the parts work together, work through the details and give each person a clear plan.
That discipline matters because the work is a team effort. A sound plan gives the crew a stronger starting point. Clear communication helps everyone respond when the roof reveals something unexpected. And the homeowner deserves to be part of that conversation.

The homeowner, supplier, delivery team and installation crew each hold part of the project. Keeping them connected is how a plan becomes work that runs with purpose.
It means explaining the scope to the customer, coordinating materials and delivery, giving the crew clear information and communicating when conditions change. Questions need an answer. Decisions need to reach the people they affect.
For you, that means a clearer understanding of what is happening, what comes next and why a decision is being made. You should feel that there is a team taking responsibility for your home.
A roofing project is a significant decision about your home. Our aim is for you to remember the attention you received as clearly as the finished roof.
We start with your concerns and what matters to you. There is room for questions, priorities and a conversation about the home you want to protect.
You see the findings and understand the recommendation. A clear scope and explained options help you choose at your own pace, with a reason behind the investment.
Respect for your property, clear expectations and communication when conditions change are part of the work. You should understand what comes next and have a person to turn to with questions.
The finish should feel right for your home. We review the completed work with you and explain the details and care behind it, so you can appreciate both the appearance and the decisions beneath it.
We want you to look back and feel that choosing Wind Proof was a decision you made with confidence—and one we honored with care.
Protect homes and the people inside them through careful roofing work, clear explanations and recommendations grounded in what the roof needs. Make the experience feel considered and personal, so homeowners feel supported from the first conversation through the finished project.
Build a company our community remembers for both the quality of its roofs and the way people are treated. Earn the kind of confidence that makes a homeowner comfortable returning to us and recommending us to someone they care about.
Explain what we find and why it matters. Recommend a repair when it makes sense, and explain the reason when replacement is the better direction.
Show the findings, define the scope and discuss the options. You should know what you are choosing before you commit.
Treat decking, flashing, ventilation and transitions as parts of one roof system. Care beneath the surface matters as much as the finished appearance.
Set clear expectations, communicate when conditions change and follow through on the scope we agree to.
Respect your property, your questions and your right to make a considered decision. No pressure. No confusion.
Build on experience through manufacturer training and attention to current installation requirements. Sound judgment keeps learning.

THE ELEPHANT BEHIND THE NAME
Our elephant carries the qualities we want Wind Proof to stand for: memory, wisdom, loyalty and resilience. The hammer brings that meaning back to the craft.
The elephant is our reminder: real strength carries responsibility.
A detailed estimate is transparency. It shows what we found, what we recommend and what the work includes. It is also the game plan: preparation, materials, installation details, flashing, ventilation and cleanup, with options and conditions that need confirmation identified.
For the homeowner, it creates an informed decision. For the team, it establishes a shared scope to work from. When concealed conditions require a change, we explain the finding and the proposed next step.
That discipline carries through asphalt shingles, standing seam metal and PVC low-slope roofing. It is how the philosophy behind Wind Proof takes a practical form on your home.
“Prices and details can always be adjusted,
but trust cannot be bargained.”
